AYITI 4.0 Graduation

Fifty-two weeks ago, we embarked on an ambitious journey at Access for Youths to Information Technology Initiatives with a clear mission: to empower vulnerable children by providing them with the essential skills needed to shape their futures through technology.

Our initiative began with a focus on coding, recognizing the transformative power of digital literacy in today's tech-driven world. As we progressed, we realized the importance of broadening our educational scope to meet the evolving demands of the digital economy. Consequently, we expanded our curriculum to include:

Data Analytics: This addition was designed to equip our students with the ability to analyze, interpret, and make decisions based on data, skills that are increasingly crucial in every sector. We introduced courses that cover statistical methods, data visualization, and practical applications using tools like Python.

Electronics: Understanding the basics of electronics complements our coding education, offering a hands-on approach to technology. We incorporated modules on circuit design, basic robotics, and IoT (Internet of Things) concepts, aiming to inspire innovation and creativity among our students by showing them how software interfaces with hardware.

Through these expansions, we not only aim to provide technical skills but also foster a mindset of problem-solving, creativity, and innovation. Our goal is to prepare these young minds not just for immediate job opportunities but for a lifelong journey in technology, where they can contribute to and lead in the digital transformation of Nigeria and beyond.

Today marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the graduation of the Code Generals for AYITI 4.0 2023/2024. I, along with Abidemi Daniel Abogunrin, a cybersecurity consultant, was on the ground to personally congratulate each graduate and witness the culmination of their hard work, dedication, and growth. This graduation symbolizes not just the end of a program but the beginning of a new chapter where these young coders will apply their skills to real-world challenges, innovate, and continue to learn.

This past year has been a testament to our commitment to youth empowerment, and we look forward to continuing this journey, adapting our programs to the ever-changing tech landscape, and reaching even more children who stand to benefit from our initiatives.
